Mormons and the metaphsyical

Just finished watching the Mormons on PBS

My thoughts afterwards

They believe in choosing their families before being born, they believe in being with their family after death as a spirit being and they were started by one who used a Seer Stone to find gold. So Jesus finally meets the metaphysical world and you get Mormons.
He even saw what we would describe as a Guardian Angel who told him where the book of Mormon was to be found. I don't know much about his conversation but I think it is something I might be interested in finding out more about. To actually see an angel and to actual describe how thousands, millions of us describe them even today, has got me very curious about it.

Now today you get to throw in some government run council, presidents who have thrown in their ideas and share the wealth with a dash of NEVER QUESTION the top men and you get the whole Mormon experience. Yep, they are run by a council with a president and though they share much with each other, to question is to possible hurt one's or other's faith and that is not allowed. So through the whole thing in my eyes borders on Communist ideals with metaphysical background and a Christ notion of salvation, I can still understand why people are drawn to it and why they never leave.
Too many of us are weak and want to follow over leading. To find a religion which tells us who, how and what we are is gold. I guess too many people are scared they might not be good people on their own.
I could never follow this. I lead too much. Want to question things and am drawn too much to making my own life choices. I would never make a good Mormon. I would instead be thrown out for making people think.

I do hope in time religion like this one finds its way out of our lives. Things like Scientology and Christianity and even Muslims tend to want to tell you how to live. Why is it so hard to decide for yourself how to live and why is it we don't realize how good we really are and how good we can be without being told.
We can rise up and be good without rules. We can be awesome people to each other by our own doing and not because we were worried about life after death. Isn't it much more rewarding to know you did something because you choose it over being scared into it. IF a child does the dishes because he/she loves you and was never asked, isn't that more heart warming than the child who did it out of a bribe or was scared into it through punishment?

No religions like the Mormons are too quick to tell you who to be and not quick enough in bringing out the best of you!
