Let's talk Back Pain over coffee!

While millions of people are stressed over tax time, standing in line for their free Starbucks Coffee with their own mug and rubbing their back from the sheer pain of it all, there is hope for these millions and without the add of a doctor!

Cure 1
Vitamin D and this was one I didn't know about until I did some research last night. I found that one of the main things with a deficiency in Vitamin D is back pain. You can drink your milk, take some supplement vitamins or get our in the sun! After two weeks of making sure you have Vitamin D in your diet and you still have back pain, it would mean Vitamin D wasn't the problem.

Cure 2
Magnesium
Now this one is a little harder to get in your diet but there are ways. Fish like Halibut and Tuna are good sources. Artichokes are better and you can find it in beans, cornmeal and spinach! Or again find a good supplement Vitamin at your local food store!

Cure 3
Willow Bark
and no, please don't run out and rip it off the poor tree! It works like Aspirin and has pain killer abilities so it might be worth the time. You have to make sure you get the right willow bark since I read it was mainly White Willow which works and can be found at your Health store.

Cure 4
The long list of pain helping herbs... There are more out there than I can put in my blog but as with any of them, go to your Health store or Herb Store and see what they have or recommend. They usually have a wide selection and will have some better information on each one and how they work. It seems most work like aspirin and have some or more ability to affect pain. I would not recommend a online store unless you are sure of the company and/or the herbs you are getting. In recent years, there has been some study on herbs being sold which are not what the bottle says and some had extra harmful ingredients added. So be careful.

Cure 5
Docs, meds and knives
Yeah this is the last resort cure. But like my mother, she had to under go the knife in order to cure her bad disk in her back. She did herbs, chiropractor and her back pain only got worse over time.

But one last thing, if the back pain you are going through is steady for more than 6 months, herb treatments don't even come close to helping and you find the pain a 7 or higher, on a scale from 1 being easy pain to 10 being horrible, go see a doctor only to make sure you don't have a bad disk or more serious problem. When it gets this bad, the need for a doctor does become needed in some cases. Please don't feel you can't use a doctor when needed.
